Light bulbs flashed and out in my dining room ceiling. won’t get back on?
Last night it was raining. I came home around 10pm and turned on my kitchen light above the sink. As it was turned on, a bright light flashed above me, and the light went out. I knew it went out so i didn’t pay much attention and thought I’d change that today.
Today, however, I noticed that 4 other lights, in addition to the one flashed last night, plus a chandelier beside the kitchen in the dining room (all in the same area) stopped working too. I checked the fuse panel down in the basement but everything seemed to be working fine. All other appliances /fridge/ stove/wall plugs in the area are working fine too.
Good light bulbs are put in, fuse panel is fine. What else should I check?
No, as a matter of fact, I don’t have anything connected to the plugs right now. The tester on the panel works fine too. What could be wrong between the breaker panel and light bulbs?
Thanks for the reponses. I did replace a couple of the bulbs. The one I saw a flash the other night was broken, but the other ones seemed fine. The chandelier is on the same circuit. The other appliances (fridges/ plugs/microwave) are on a different circuit and they are perfectly fine. My guess is the same as yours, the problem should be within this circuit, somewhere between the breaker panel to the light bulb.
In a breaker set up, can fuses still be burned? I thought we don’t use fuses anymore?
